Xiaomi Mi4 Launched With 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 SoC And 3GB Of RAM

The new Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone was announced earlier today, and now the company has confirmed more information about the handset, including the Xiaomi Mi4 price.

Mi 4 has been launched, at an event in China today. The Mi 4 offers a metal frame and outstanding hardware in the form of a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC with 3 GB of huge RAM. The handset is also the first Xiaomi handset to offer LTE connectivity, and will be on sale later this month to the equivalent of $320 for the 16 GB variant, and $400 for the 64 GB.

The front camera has been upgraded to 8 MP compared to the 5 MP on the Mi 3, and the RAM as well, from 2 GB to 3 GB. The battery has also received a slight boost to 3080 mAh. During the launch event, Xiaomi president Lei Jun said that the battery on the Mi 4 would last users a day and a half which I think is sufficient for users who love to spent most of his time with a smartphone, and also, it would take just an hour for the battery to reach 60 percent charge level.

As we were expecting this device to come with metal body, instead of plastic, while the Mi4 features a plastic back, with metal frame around the sides. At the even they explained the reason behind offering plastic device, Xiaomi has said that it went with plastic to make the device more customizable by offering removable back covers, of which there will be a lot of options available, including wooden variants and more.

At the launch event, Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun also announced that the company sold 26.11 million phones in H1 2014, which an increase of 271 percent in the same period last year.
